On next Monday, (May 19th 2014) the development of the AHRA (Architectural Humanities Research Association) PhD Symposium will occur at the University College of Dublin. The title of the symposium is Setting Out

This year the theme is stimulated by the notion of the ‘PhD journey’ and the unexpected diversions of the research process. The topic considers the idea of multiple stages and their integration.

The symposium  is comprised of 7 sessions: Philosophies of Language, Urban-National Identities, Modes of Practice, Negotiating Land/Cityscape, Lightning, Representation and Types and Sources

After looking at the programme, one can identify contemporary treatments of architectural enquiries, with key words such as: methods of design, the negotiation of the city and land, representation, architectural languages and typologies-resources

It seems to be an interesting gathering of ideas and exploration of current architectural interrogations. Looking forward to be there.
